Terms

The rules,
in plain English.

These are the terms you agree to by using @cal. We've kept the legalese to the minimum the law requires.

The deal

@cal is a service operated by @cal, Inc. ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use @cal.

02

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 (16 in the EU) to use @cal.
  • Your @handle is yours while you use it. If you stop using @cal for 12 months, we may release the handle.
  • You're responsible for what happens through your account. Keep your phone and email secure.
  • Don't impersonate other people or use a handle you have no real claim to.
03

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Spam, harass, or send unwanted invites en masse.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate the service in a way that disrupts it for others.
  • Use @cal to coordinate illegal activity.
  • Attempt to identify, contact, or work around someone who has blocked you.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. We try to warn first; we won't always be able to.

04

Your content

Anything you upload or create through @cal — events, notes, profile bio, the works — stays yours. You grant us a limited license to host, transmit, and display that content solely so the product works for you and the people you share it with.

The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we're legally required to retain backups for a defined window.

05

Pricing

@cal is free during the current launch. If we add paid plans, existing free features will stay free. We'll give at least 30 days' notice before charging for anything.

06

Termination

You can delete your account anytime in Settings — that removes all server-side data within 30 days.

We can suspend or terminate the service (or your access) if you violate these terms, if continued service exposes other users to harm, or if a legal authority requires it.

07

Disclaimers

@cal is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it reliable and accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that every event will sync without conflict. Always double-check critical plans before relying on them.

08

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to @cal is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you haven't paid anything).

09

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of New Castle County, Delaware. You and we both waive a jury trial.

10

Changes

If we make material changes, we'll notify everyone with an account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
